The session Understanding the Importance of Inclusion in Education is facilitated by Lesa Paddock from IN*SOURCE, a parent training and information center.  Throughout Indiana, IN*SOURCE offers individual phone assistance, parent training classes and support at school meetings. The session will focus on supporting families in understanding the benefits of inclusion, research, federal and state laws aligned to inclusion, and will equip families and educators with facts and benefits of inclusion. 

Session Objectives Include:
  • The definition of inclusion 
  • Benefits of inclusion 
  • Inclusion is built into federal and state laws 
  • Six (6) important principles of IDEA and how they support inclusion
